New York City hotel tax is 14.75 percent plus a daily $2 per room occupancy fee. Our site lists the starting low season rack rate for each hotel, but prices rise and fall depending upon the season and demand, like airline tickets; use these rates as guidelines. Prices are lowest in January and February and highest in September and October.
It’s easy to find reviews on our site. If you know the name of the hotel you want, type it into the Keyword Search box and hit GO. If you’re looking for a hotel in a particular neighborhood, want a place that’s hip and allows pets, or crave a spa and free WiFi, check the proper criteria. For a master list of all the hotels we’ve reviewed, click
Hotels A to Z. And if you don’t see the hotel you want, check in again. We’re adding new reviews every week.
New York City has more than 200 hotels in its five boroughs, and we’ll review as many as we can to help you choose. We’re independent, with no ties to hotels, booking agencies or travel agents. We pay when we eat and stay (and never mention we’re writing a review). Visit us often; we’re adding and updating reviews all the time.

City Club: Summer Restaurant Week 2012!
Jul 16, 2012
It’s time once gain to raise a fork. Summer Restaurant Week is back with a big anniversary to celebrate (20 years). More than 300 restaurants are on board, including more than 20 in hotels, offering three course prix fixe $24.07 lunches and $35 dinners, July 16 through August 10. Midtown hotel participants include The National at The Benjamin, Norma’s at Le Parker Meridien, Shula’s Steak House at the Westin Times Square, Abboccato at The Blakely and, one of our favorites, DB Bistro Moderne at City Club (pictured), home of the fabled, if forbidding, truffle burger.
